Finish is the No.1 recommended Dishwasher Detergent Brand worldwide. It has been at the forefront of automatic dishwashing for over 60 Yrs. Finish products are recommended by more Dishwasher brands worldwide than any other brand.

Is Finish same as other Dishwasher detergents used for cleaning utensils?
No. Finish is specially formulated detergent & contains additives to be used in automatic dishwashers only. Dishwashers require special products to dispense clean & dry utensils and Finish is specially formulated for this

Yes. Finish automatic dishwashing products are completely environment friendly & bio degradable.

Dishwashing vs. Handwashing: Which uses more water and energy?
Compared to washing dishes by hand, dishwashers use much less water. Handwashing uses up to seven times more water than a regular dishwashing cycle. Dishwashers also heat up the water more efficiently, which results in less heat loss than heating water in a tank and transporting it to the sink. In addition, the appliance is insulated to avoid heat loss from the interior space. All the more reason to use your dishwasher!

The truth behind dishwashing by hand:

  • Water used - 140 L
  • Energy used - 3.5 kWh
  • Time spent - 71 min

The truth behind using a dishwasher (at 3 levels):

  • Water used – Quick: 13 L /Normal: 18 L /Intensive: 27 L
  • Energy used – Quick: 0.9 kWh / Normal: 1.6 kWh / Intensive: 2.0 kWh
  • Time spent – Quick: 39 min / Normal 131 min / Intensive 112 min

So, not only does the dishwasher save you time by doing all of the work for you, but it actually does it by using less water and energy. Even more of an excuse to never wash another dish by hand again!

Why should I use an automatic dishwashing detergent such as Finish in my dishwasher?
Your detergent needs to complement the cleansing action of your dishwasher. Automatic dishwashing detergent is specially formulated to disperse food residue and greasy soiling, hold it in suspension, and remove it in the final rinse. It does all this while producing little or no suds.

How should I store my dishwashing detergent?
Your dishwashing detergent should be stored in a dry environment. If you are using powders, be careful to close the spout after each use to help keep the product dry (and to avoid spills!). Like all cleaning products, store your detergent out of the reach of children.

Do I need to pre-rinse my dishes before loading them into the dishwasher?
No need to! Pre-rinsing is a thing of the past. And although most of Indians do it, it's time consuming and wasteful. It can waste up to 20 gallons of water per wash load.

Quality detergents like Finish Power Detergent contain both bleach and enzymes, so you don't need to pre-rinse. Bleach fights tough stains like tea and coffee, and enzymes breakdown proteins and starches. All you have to do is scrape the larger pieces into the trash and load your dishwasher.

How do I load the dishwasher correctly?
There is a proper way to load your dishwasher to ensure that you get both amazing results and protection for your dishware, cookware, flatware and glasses. As always, you should always follow your manufacturer's recommendations when loading your dishwasher, but here are a few simple guidelines to follow:

Before you put anything in the dishwasher, scrape off the large food particles and do not pre-rinse. Your dishwasher detergent’s job is to cling to food and help wash it away.

With cutlery, make sure to avoid nesting so that water can rinse all surfaces. Since safety comes first, long/sharp knives should face downwards. With spoons and forks, mix it up!

Load your large soiled dishes on the bottom rack of the dishwasher so they get good water flow. Be sure to load stemware and cups on an angle so water can run off the bottoms and dry properly. Always face stains towards the spray arms, and as long as pots and pans are dishwasher safe, they can be cleaned.

If your dishwasher has an exposed heating element, plastics go in the top rack, but if it has a concealed heating element, plastics can go anywhere in the dishwasher. However make sure your plastic is dishwasher safe!

How important is it to set the water temperature?
For sparkling clean dishes and to be able to dissolve food stains, your dishwasher requires hot water. For instance, hot water at 70 degree C helps in cleaning your dishes and removing all the germs which is not possible via manual washing at normal temperature water.

How can I get best cleaning results from my dishwasher?

  • Avoid low quality and old/damp detergents.
  • Use the detergent brand recommended by your manufacturer.
  • Always place tablets in the dosing chamber.
  • Load and sort dishes to allow wash water to circulate and run off freely.
  • A cleaner dishwasher means cleaner dishes. Use Finish Dishwasher Cleaner to clear build-up of grease and limescale.
  • Load dishes correctly so that water runs off freely.
  • Regularly add Finish Shine and Dry rinse aid to the rinse aid dispenser.
  • Add Finish Salt if you live in an area with extremely hard water.
  • To maintain the performance of your machine, remove and clean filters regularly.

How can I stop my glasses from clouding?

  • In hard water areas, avoid limescale deposits by adding Finish Salt into the salt chamber.
  • Determine your local water hardness and adjust the machine setting accordingly.
  • Such limescale clouding can be removed by cleaning with white vinegar.
  • White streaks on glasses could be surface corrosion. Unfortunately this is irreversible but can be avoided by using low temperature, glass cycles or using dishwasher proof glassware.

Why are my dishes still wet?

Possible Causes:

  • Poor drying/rinse performance due to low residual heat in plastics
  • Wrongly sorted or concave dishes (form puddles)
  • Unloading dishes too soon after program has finished
  • Defective heating element

Possible Solutions:

  • Load your utensils upside down so that the water can run off completely.
  • After the program has finished, open the door for a short time, then close again and wait before unloading.
  • Call a service technician.
